The African Society for Ecological Economics (ASEE) https://asee-africa.org Africa’s regional chapter of the International Society of Ecological Economics (ISEE) is a not-for-profit, member-governed, organization dedicated to advancing understanding of the relationships among ecological, social, and economic systems for the mutual well-being of nature and people in Africa and other regions. ASEE was registered as a society in Kenya on 24 February 2006, and after a period of inactivity, the society was revived in 2018. To achieve its objectives the society is recruiting economists, ecologists, and researchers in related disciplines from research organizations, academic institutions, government ministries and agencies, private sector, and civil society organizations in Africa and other regions. Members who join the society will enjoy benefits from ASEE and ISEE, which include: an opportunity to network with people around the world who share an interest in discovering just how human societies are transforming and being transformed by their environment; biennial conferences open to all members at discounted rates; information on job openings and research funding opportunities; dissemination of ecological economic tools, and discounts on books and journals; and by special arrangement with the Elsevier publishers, a reduced online cost or print subscription to the ISEE’s journal Ecological Economics. Please join us through the ISEE link https://theisee.wildapricot.org/page-1548413. Note that membership dues are based on your annual salary calculated in US dollars and are purchased on an auto-renew basis, so choose a category that suits you best. From your member area (accessed via the login page, after you have joined) you can cancel your membership anytime. When you cancel, your membership and subscription will carry through until the end of your current membership cycle (a full year from the time you signed up for your membership), and then will go inactive. Login to reactivate your membership. Also, at any time, you may cancel your subscription while leaving your membership active. Welcome to ASEE and let’s build Ecological Economics in Africa.
